Hi Friends!
I'm Sara, a photographer, wife, momma, coach and business owner.

I'm from a gorgeous winery destination nestled at the base of the Blue Mountains. In fact, it's so-nice-they-named-it-twice, Walla Walla, Washington. Although, growing up it wasn't always a destination, I had a magical childhood which I can thank my incredible parents for providing. I grew up barefoot and wild on 19 acres in the country where our normal days would be filled with building mud dams, riding horses and gorgeous family adventures exploring our mountains.
I loved my childhood so much that in 2019 my husband and I decided to move back home to raise our family. We bought property and built a little house right in the heart of wine country where my girls can run barefoot and wild, ride their horses whenever they want and learn how to do all the important necessities of the past like gardening, baking bread, making our own things etc.
I began my photography journey in 2008 at Arizona State University where I played collegiate volleyball. I took film photography as an elective and was able to learn how to develop film myself. I am so glad I did because I would say it was a much more arduous adventure than I imagined it would be. I still remember crying over my camera settings or developing film just to find that it was blurry. I learned how to dodge and burn with an enlarger and do all the things. It was an awesome experience, but it made me so thankful for DSLR and Mirrorless cameras once I moved onto the new ways of life.
I coached volleyball and ran my first photography business in Western Washington for over a decade, but truly found my niche once I moved to MY HEART TOWN, Walla Walla, Washington.

Let me tell you a story...
In October 2023, I found something special.
Let me rewind a little bit and set the stage... It was a hot early fall afternoon, my girls were sleeping and my youngest had started to crawl. So I thought to myself "hmm this would be a good time to let her start pushing herself around in our walker... where is it?".
I began my search party in our garage... no luck there. I sighed and headed over to our shop. It was a big pink thing on rollers, how hard could it be to spot...

I headed across the driveway, into our shop to search for the walker.

We have a loft in the shop where we occasionally store items that we are saving for different life stages with kids. So I climbed up the ladder to search.
Something caught my eye...

In a plastic box, I found the most precious gift, family heirloom photos. In these photos, I saw where my sister gets her profile from, I got to see what my mom looked like when she was a baby, I got to see my grandmas super cute 1960's hairstyle. I looked through these images for hours and hours. These photos are so special to our family.

I'm so thankful that my family members who are now gone took the time to "take the photo". My daughter has loved looking through the photos and seeing grandma at her age. It's like looking through a time portal.

Take the photo.
